The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
The EYFS Framework has three prime areas:-

Physical Development
-
Personal, social and emotional development
As the children grow these areas will help them develop skills in specific areas:-
-

-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive arts & design
The team at St Paul's pre-school is dedicated to providing the best EYFS setting we can by:-
-
Planning your child's learning and activities across all EYFS areas, and
-
Recognising parents as partners in providing support for your child's development
A typical morning session looks like this:-
9.15am - Children arrive, register, and have Free Play ”Children’s Choice”
9.30am – 9.45am. Circle Time - Creative Theme introduced
9.45am - Outdoor Play Starts
10am - Snack Bar Opens
11am - Adult-led & Key Person activities in small groups
11.45am - Tidy-Up Time
12.00 - Rhyming & Song Time
12.15pm - Children Collected
Sessions are structured so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion.
The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others.
Every child has a key worker who will involve the parents in their child's progress and record their child's development in their individual Learning Journey.
